Associate Principal Flute – West Australian Symphony Orchestra

Mary-Anne is currently the Associate Principal Flute of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 1998.

Originally from Adelaide, Mary-Anne studied with Elizabeth Koch AM and Vernon Hill before joining the flute class of William Bennett OBE at the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Mary-Anne has performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, Adelaide Chamber Orchestra, Darwin Symphony and others.

Mary-Anne enjoys being a member of an orchestra that performs a wide variety of music. From the traditional symphonic repertoire, opera and ballet as well as contemporary, pop and jazz music to movie scores. Through WASO’s Education Program, she has given numerous concerts as part of the Education Chamber Orchestra and wind quintet.

Mary-Anne teaches at the University of Western Australia and in 2023 she presented at the Australian Flute Festival.

In 2026 Mary-Anne has been invited to present a recital at Bond University, Gold Coast as part of the Creative Connections program.
