Description:
Inheriting the spirit of the flagship Maesta series, the Cantabile combines the rich tonal depth of silver with exceptional playability and the elegant resonance unique to all-silver construction.
The Cantabile is available in two materials: .958 Britannia Silver and .925 Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver provides flexibility and tonal versatility, allowing for quicker response and richly nuanced expression. Britannia Silver, on the other hand, has the higher silver content, offering the player greater resistance and control, and producing a warmer, more substantial tone.
Pearl’s artisans have collaborated with world-renowned flutists such as Benoit Fromanger and János Bálint to design professional headjoints of the highest quality. In Australia, players can also choose from three curved taper headjoints— Forte, Vivace, and Calore —each designed to unlock a different expressive nuance.
Features:
- Reliable construction of the handmade “Maesta”
This handmade Cantabile is made by the same craftsman as the flagship “Maesta” model. The flute body is made of solid silver, polished without plating to bring out the sound of rich, pure silver.
- Heavy Wall Construction – New in 2026!
For players looking for more power and more projection in their sound. Heavy wall construction offers flutists a more substantial tone that is darker, richer, has more body to the tonal centre and a greater carrying power. From the start of 2026, the handmade Cantabile will have heavy wall construction as standard in Australia. Heavy wall thickness: 0.45mm.
- Finest silver
Pearl Flutes are crafted using only the finest materials, carefully selected to meet our exacting standards.
- Drawn tone holes
Cantabile’s tone holes are made by a “drawn” tone hole process. In this process, metal is pulled up directly from the tube body to form the tone hole while hot. It is characterised by its ability to produce a bright sound with rich tone.
- Forte Headjoint
In Australia, the Cantabile comes with the player’s choice of the Vivace, Forte and Calore headjoint cuts. These curved, tapered head joints deliver powerful, dynamic tone, but each expresses its own unique tonal character.
The Vivace headjoint is a finely crafted blend of Forte and Vivo cuts. It retains the wide dynamic range of the Forte while offering moderate resistance and excellent responsiveness, making it ideal for players seeking both power and precision. The tonal flexibility and wide spectrum of colour offered by the Vivace cut is best to be experienced by playing it yourself.
