Schagerl Meister “1961” YB-B2N Trumpet – ML bore, yellow brass bell, yellow brass/nickel silver twin tube leadpipe – Silver Plated Finish
In close collaboration with Prof. Jack Burt, this exciting new series of Schagerl trumpet was built to honour the classic American trumpet sound. Offering a rich, vibrant sound, resonant and clear, the 1961 trumpets feature remarkably smooth and even response in all registers, the hallmark of all Schagerl trumpets. The 1961 name delivers a nod to the heyday of the classic American orchestral trumpet sound.
“I felt that the Schagerl 1961 was special the moment I played it… It has a warm, dark sound, which I love, and a solid core to the sound with a great balance of overtones across the range. I’m very happy to be playing the Schagerl 1961 as my B-flat trumpet.”
– David Khafagi (Principal Trumpet – Adelaide Symphonic Orchestra)
“The 1961 is in fact that Holy Grail I’ve been searching for… A fantastically rich core. Excellent flexibility. Brilliant response, perfect tuning, and can be wielded to produce any of the colours that we are required to give at the drop of a hat in the Studio. The 1961 is a sheer joy to play. I’ve always wanted to have one horn that I can use to fit the entire range of tonal qualities that my career requires, and to say I’m impressed with what Schagerl have designed would be a gross understatement. It is indeed, super!”
– Matthew Collins (Assistant Lead Trumpet – Synchron Stage Vienna)
“The Schagerl Meister 1961 trumpet models are ‘dead, solid perfect’, ‘straight down the middle’ American style trumpets: Clear, rich, focused, liquid and brilliant. Yet, more – they play with a greater flexibility and response, free-blowing and beautiful with just the right amount of resistance. They are a joy to play.”
– Dr. Jack Burt (Professor of Trumpet – University of Maine School of Performing Arts)
