The best of both worlds.
The Ganschhorn – this is the trumpet Thomas Gansch plays. The Ganschhorn was created in close collaboration with the Mnozil Brass star trumpeter.
Gansch sought a horn with the response and tonal range of a rotary trumpet, but with the power and easy handling of a piston instrument – the best of both worlds!
It was important to him that his trumpet could be operated easily with one hand, allowing him to play with the greatest freedom on stage. The iconic curved bell allows the Ganschhorn’s sound to project over the stand and directly to the audience.
In 2021, for Schagerl’s 60th anniversary, our two Ganschhorn Models underwent a significant update. Improvements were made to the leadpipe, which permit even more stable intonation and a more precise response across the registers. A new horn, for a new decade!
“The Ganschhorn, especially developed for me together with Schagerl, is an ideal instrument for an ‘allrounder’. I can use it for all music styles, no matter if I play in a big band, a symphony-orchestra, for chamber music, at the studio or with the brass band. The special form of this trumpet is a great advantage when you are on stage and want to entertain.
Other advantages are the vertical valve sections, which are easier to play than the usual rotary trumpets – a gorgeous instrument for highest quality standards.”
